Typography¶
Typography is configured under Appearance → Customize → Typography, with a site-wide default and per-location overrides.
The default font¶
Loveshack ships with Inter as the default body font, loaded from Google Fonts.
Inter is not bundled
Inter is fetched from Google Fonts only while the body font setting is left at the theme default. Selecting any other font removes that external request. If you need to avoid third-party requests entirely — for GDPR reasons or otherwise — change the body font.
Per-location overrides¶
Each text location starts out inheriting the site defaults. Enable Override default typography on a location to unlock its own controls:
| Control | Notes |
|---|---|
| Font | The font family for this location |
| Color / Dark color | Paired light and dark values |
| Font size | |
| Font weight | |
| Font smoothing | Antialiasing treatment |
| Line height | |
| Letter spacing | |
| Uppercase | Transforms the location to uppercase |
Set both Color and Dark color together. A location with only one set will look wrong in the other scheme.
Practical guidance¶
Start with the site-wide default and change as little as possible. The per-location controls exist for the two or three places that genuinely need to differ — typically the site title and post meta — not as a per-element design system.
Letter spacing and uppercase are worth pairing: uppercase text almost always needs a small positive letter spacing to stay readable.
